Celebrity Turtle
Someday, I am going to go to the store and buy a very large aquarium. I’ll put a rack full of outlandish clothes and some serious sounding literary books in there, and a toilet that is concealed from the waist down, but not above that. I will go out and snare a celebrity and put it in there.
I will remember to feed it and I will turn the lights on for the right amount of hours in the day...

Idyllwild
Drove up to Idyllwild for the first annual Idyllwild Film Festival yesterday. We were driving through the beautiful mountains as the sun was setting beyond the soft darkness of the peaks. It’s hard to believe how quickly you can start to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. We were only twenty or thirty miles off the ten, but it suddenly felt like we were really roughing it.

Totally obsessed with this album right now.
You know what’s like, so tough, about living in California? It’s just so hard to find any music or movies that are about this place (ha!).

It's not smog, it's not smog, it's not smog
You know the story, Los Angeles is prone to pollution due to it’s geography. According to wikipedia, the Chumash Indians named this area “the valley of the smoke” long before we started driving cars here. The necessity to control auto emissions in this basin has resulted in the state of California’s notoriously stringent emissions laws. So that’s a good thing,...

Getting in on the fun
The other day, right around two in the afternoon, a person I was with paused to greet a neighbor. The neighbor was a bit befuddled and incoherent.
“I’m sorry,” He said, “I’ve just had a great lunch and plenty of wine.”
As we drove away my companions and I chuckled at his admission. ”He’s French.” Somebody explained, as if that was all there...

Chateau Shatto
First of all, I really hate losing. I’m competitive and, this may sound braggy, but I usually have a fair chance of winning most games. Second: I am a truly terrible bowler. I don’t know why, I used to play a fair amount in high school, but I never got to be very good at it. As you can imagine, given the above facts, I effing hate bowling most of the time.
However! That...

The next big thing...
…is called tube-flops and it is magnificent.
As you can obviously tell from previous pictures, I spent yesterday bumming in Venice, and this is what I found there: leg warmers that are attached to flip-flops.
Only one store in Venice had them, so far, and the owner told us that he had only had them in for about a month. Call me crazy, but I am going to go ahead and call this right now,...

Super Important Movie Reviews: The Imaginarium of...
Also known as Heath Ledger’s last movie.
This was the first movie I’ve seen since I went to Avatar in 3D. I’m not going to lie, I was disappointed by the flatness. The Imaginarium is so beautiful and, like Avatar, exists in this spectacular and whimsical world and I couldn’t help thinking that maybe Avatar had ruined 2D movies for me because I wanted that world jumping...
